The Occupation is Forever

by element115
Israel’s ‘security concerns’ is code for Israel’s lebensraum, its idée fixe. Israel commands the cycle of repression and killing as integral to its ongoing land grab, which naturally invites resistance, which threatens Israel’s security, which results in more repression and killing and more land grabs.

Israeli killings’ images can’t be justified: Brian Eno

by element115
Dear All of You, I sense I’m breaking an unspoken rule with this letter, but I can’t keep quiet any more.

Today I saw a picture of a weeping Palestinian man holding a plastic carrier bag of meat. It was his son. He’d been shredded (the hospital’s word) by an Israeli missile attack – apparently using their fab new weapon, fléchette bombs. You probably know what those are – hundreds of small steel darts packed around explosive which tear the flesh off humans. The boy was Mohammed Khalaf Al Nawasra. He was four years old.

I suddenly found myself thinking that it could have been one of my kids in that bag, and that thought upset me more than anything has for a long time.

Then I read that the UN had said that Israel might be guilty of war crimes in Gaza, and they wanted to launch a commission into that. America won’t sign up to it.

What is going on in America?

NSA Docs Show 'Israeli Action in Gaza has US Fingerprints All Over It'

by element115
A new analysis of the intelligence and military relationship between the U.S. and Israeli governments — bolstered by new top secret NSA documents leaked by Edward Snowden — exposes the deep complicity of American foreign policy when it comes to enabling Israel's continued occupation of the Palestinian territories and its ongoing aggressive military assault on the Gaza Strip.

Israeli aggression would be impossible without the constant, lavish support and protection of the U.S. government, which is anything but a neutral, peace-brokering party in these attacks. And the relationship between the NSA and its partners on the one hand, and the Israeli spying agency on the other, is at the center of that enabling."

Israeli operation kills more than 400 Gaza children

by element115
Israeli military operation in the Gaza Strip has killed 408 children, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) said on Tuesday.

The death toll exceeded that of the sad 2008-2009 Operation Cast Lead that killed 350 children.

According to UNICEF, over the last month the operation injured no less than 2,500 Palestinian children. A one-month infant is among the victims of the Israeli fire at the Gaza Strip, which is one of the world’s most densely populated areas. The conflict has already claimed lives of 1,800 Palestinians.

Racists Are Rampaging Through Israel

August 4, 2014 by element115
One of the most striking aspects of this “phenomenon” is how young the people taking part appear to be. Those posting on social media, running amok in lynch mobs, and crashing leftist rallies with sticks, chains, and brass knuckles are, for the most part, young people—many in their mid-20s, some in their teens.

“When you translate it into English you realize how horrific it is, but in the Israeli context there's nothing shocking about it.”

Enmity and Civilian Toll Rise in Ukraine While Attention Is Diverted

by element115
With international attention focused on the tragedy of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, the deaths of these three civilians — some of the roughly 800 who have been killed in the battle over eastern Ukraine — have gone virtually unnoticed by the outside world.

“Look, there’s your Poroshenko!” yelled Viktoria Y. Iotova, referring to Ukraine’s president, Petro O. Poroshenko, and pointing to 14 Lenin Street in Snizhne, where at least 11 civilians were killed.

“Who will answer for these human lives?” she added as she began to cry.

Gaza braces for new onslaught as Israel vows to expand war

by element115
Brushing aside calls from the United Nations and Washington for an immediate and unconditional humanitarian cease-fire, the Israeli government vowed late Monday to escalate and prolong the three-week-old slaughter in the Gaza Strip.

There is nowhere safe for people to go, with over 167,000 Gazans already having fled their homes to seek refuge in schools and facilities run by the main United Nations Palestinian refugee agency UNRWA, and with even these buildings coming under Israeli bombardment. Many tens of thousands more Gazans are believed to have moved in with relatives. With the territory blockaded by both Israel and Egypt, no one can escape.

The death toll in Gaza climbed toward 1,100 on Monday with at least 44 more people reported killed by Israeli bombs and shells. The worst single atrocity took place in the northern Gaza refugee camp of al-Shati, when Israeli shells tore into a playground where families had gone to celebrate the first day of the Eid al-Fitr Muslim holiday. At least 10 people were killed, eight of them children, and another 46 were wounded.

Gaza: No innocent victims?

July 28, 2014 by element115
A destructive mindset among Israelis justifies violence against Palestinians.

This mindset has been reflected in the statements of Israeli parliamentarians, one of whom deemed the enemy to be "the Palestinian people". Ayelet Shaked, of the Jewish Home party, also posted to Facebook an article advocating killing the mothers of Palestinian "martyrs", and destroying their homes for having raised "little snakes" in them.

The deputy speaker of the Knesset and a member of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee, Moshe Feiglin, decried the "illogical pity" Israel has for its enemies and argued against warning Gazans of impending bombings, because they were supporters of Hamas.

This mindset is, perhaps, both a cause and an effect of the 47-year old occupation, the longest in modern history, and the ways in which it must be continually sustained: from human rights abuses to daily harassments and humiliations; from the seven-year economic blockade of 1.8 million people to the current deployment of a military superpower against the residential buildings, schools, hospitals, mosques and disabled centres of an impoverished, captive population, 43 percent of whom are under 16.

On chutzpah and war

by element115
The mother of all chutzpahs came from the late Israeli premier Golda Meir about half a century ago: "We can forgive the Arabs for killing our sons , but we can never forgive them for forcing us to kill their children." The new version blames the Palestinians for civilian deaths in Gaza, and praises Israel for sparing lives, even after the Israel offensive kills over a thousand Palestinians.

It's the ultimate chutzpah when Israel government expresses empathy with the ill-fated civilian victims, as it gives the orders to the Israeli military to bomb entire Palestinian communities.

by element115
The total population of the United States is 313.9 million people. Suppose some Martian power invaded the US and started bombing it coast to coast from land, sea, and air and killed precisely the same percentage of Americans, namely 0.055 percent. Five Israeli Talking Points on Gaza — Debunked

by element115
Israel’s propaganda machine, however, insists that these Palestinians wanted to die (“culture of martyrdom”), staged their own death (“telegenically dead”) or were the tragic victims of Hamas’s use of civilian infrastructure for military purposes (“human shielding”). In all instances, the military power is blaming the victims for their own deaths, accusing them of devaluing life and attributing this disregard to cultural bankruptcy. In effect, Israel—along with uncritical mainstream media that unquestionably accept this discourse—dehumanizes Palestinians, deprives them even of their victimhood and legitimizes egregious human rights and legal violations.

This is not the first time. The gruesome images of decapitated children’s bodies and stolen innocence on Gaza’s shores are a dreadful repeat of Israel’s assault on Gaza in November 2012 and winter 2008–09. Not only are the military tactics the same but so too are the public relations efforts and the faulty legal arguments that underpin the attacks. Mainstream media news anchors are inexplicably accepting these arguments as fact.

Is the U.S. Withholding Evidence that Ukrainian Troops Shot Down MH17? What Did US Spy Satellites See in Ukraine?

by element115
The U.S. media’s Ukraine bias has been obvious, siding with the Kiev regime and bashing ethnic Russian rebels and Russia’s President Putin. But now – with the scramble to blame Putin for the Malaysia Airlines shoot-down – the shoddy journalism has grown truly dangerous.

The dog-not-barking question on the catastrophe over Ukraine is: what did the U.S. surveillance satellite imagery show?

So why hasn’t this question of U.S. spy-in-the-sky photos – and what they reveal – been pressed by the major U.S. news media?

IMF Plan to Loot Ukraine Revealed

by element115
Criminals operate with the same modus operandi making it relatively easy to notice the pattern of destruction the western axis will inevitably unleash as it seeks to implement its version of the new world order. The austerity introduced into EU nations like Greece will now be the norm for Ukraine.

Is US/NATO Applying the “Syria Model” in Ukraine?

by element115
The Neo-Nazi mobs had been trained and indoctrinated. Western special forces and mercenaries on contract to NATO and the Pentagon were involved in the training of the Right Sector paramilitary. In turn, the National Guard civilian militia created in mid-March is financed by Washington.

The Right Sector Brown shirts had received prior paramilitary training in Poland in September 2013 ahead of the EuroMaidan riots.

Will Detroit be the first major Chinese city in the U.S.?

by element115
Is Detroit destined to become a Chinese city? Chinese homebuyers and Chinese businesses are starting to flood into the Motor City, and the governor of Michigan is greatly encouraging this. In fact, he has formally asked the Obama administration for 50,000 special federal immigration visas to encourage even more immigration from China and elsewhere. So will Detroit be the first major city in the United States to be dominated by China? It could happen. Once upon a time, Detroit was the greatest manufacturing city in the history of the world and it had the highest per capita income in the entire country. But now it is a rotting, decaying, bankrupt hellhole that is in desperate need of a savior, and Michigan Governor Rick Snyder appears to be fully convinced that China can be that savior.

The Odessa Massacre: How the Corporate Media Whitewashes Ukraine

by element115
Odessa is the scene of yet another horrific war crime carried out by fascists against innocent civilians. The fire and massacre at the Trade Unions building which killed dozens of anti-fascist activists and employees in the building, will serve as a painful testimony to the ongoing struggle against the junta in Kiev and its neo-Nazi paramilitary foot soldiers. This obvious war crime, along with a number of others committed by the Right Sector and other ultra-nationalist (read fascist) militias, should undoubtedly be the issue making headlines around the world.

US/NATO War Crimes in Ukraine

May 4, 2014 by element115
Today Barack Obama said: “We support the operation of the Ukrainian government …”

US/NATO fascists are bringing new “EURO” values to Ukraine … today in Odessa, tomorrow, your city. The west pretends that hardly anything worth noting happened and the US-funded Kiev junta and its media say that they “smoked them out well,” referring to the 38 antifascists burned alive in a building set on fire by the Ukrainian fascists today.

Panicking US government targets alternative media

by element115
For at least the past 50 years, the American people have been fed a steady diet of lies.

Coups, false flags, political assassinations, mind control, government corruption, Orwellian surveillance, psychopaths in power, banksters dictatorship, military-industrial complex dominance and the rise of the New World Order – all of these realities have been carefully hidden from the American people and the other citizens of the West.

British Spy Chiefs Secretly Begged to Play in NSA's Data Pools

by element115
Britain’s electronic surveillance agency, Government Communications Headquarters, has long presented its collaboration with the National Security Agency’s massive electronic spying efforts as proportionate, carefully monitored, and well within the bounds of privacy laws. But according to a top-secret document in the archive of material provided to The Intercept by NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden, GCHQ secretly coveted the NSA’s vast troves of private communications and sought “unsupervised access” to its data as recently as last year – essentially begging to feast at the NSA’s table while insisting that it only nibbles on the occasional crumb.

Ukraine, “Colored Revolutions”, Swastikas and the Threat of World War III

May 3, 2014 by element115
On the thirteenth anniversary of the illegal invasion of Iraq and the total destruction of it’s “sovereignty and territorial integrity”, by America and Britain, Prime Minister David Cameron has scuttled off to Brussels for a meeting of European Union Ministers to agree on a “robust response” to Russia – which has fired not a shot, invaded no one and threatened nothing except to respond that if sanctions were imposed on Russia they might consider a trading response. Fair enough, surely?

IMF Demands Ukraine Risk World War 3 for bailout package

by element115
The IMF has told Kiev that if it doesn’t defend eastern areas of Ukraine against pro-Russian forces, or in other words risk going to war with Russia and starting World War 3, that a planned $17 billion dollar bailout package will have to be “redesigned”.

IMF head Christine Lagarde said that the global body would “check regularly” to see if Ukraine was keeping up with its commitments on which the loan deal is dependent. One of those commitments includes a vow to use military forces to repel Russian influence in the east of the country.
