Ahmadinejad tells U.N. U.S. government was behind the attacks on 9/11

"The majority of the American people as well as most nations and politicians around the world agree with this view," Ahmadinejad told the 192-nation assembly, calling on the United Nations to establish "an independent fact-finding group" to look into the events of September 11.

The U.S. delegation walked out during Ahmadinejad's speech. It was joined by all 27 European Union delegations and several other countries.

Nobel for Israeli nuclear whistleblower

A human rights organization has planned to present the Nobel Peace Prize of a late German journalist to an Israeli man who revealed Tel Aviv's secret nuclear program.

Nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize a number of times in the past, Vanunu was abducted by Israeli agents after the 1986 interview and spent 18 years in prison, including more than 11 years in solitary confinement.

"I am honored to receive this award," Vanunu wrote in reply, adding "I'll receive it on one condition -- that I myself can be personally present to receive it. If you cannot promise me that condition, I prefer that you not give me the prize and leave the option to me when I'm free."

Massive Israel spy base exposed

A French periodical has revealed the location of a secret Israeli espionage center, which ranks among the world’s largest and most significant.

The French publication said the Israel Army’s intelligence Unit 8200, which is accommodated in the base, cracks into email boxes and taps the phone conversations of “governments, international organizations, foreign companies, political groups and individuals” in the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Europe.
