The Propaganda Model of News

by element115
Edward Herman and Noam Chomsky demolish one of the central tenets of our political culture, the idea of the "liberal media." Instead, utilizing a systematic model based on massive empirical research, they reveal the manner in which the news media are so subordinated to corporate and conservative interests that their function can only be described as that of "elite propaganda."

Turkish Commandos Kill 11 Kurdish Rebels

by element115
Turkish commandos killed 11 Kurds in three days of battles in the mountains bordering Iraq, one of the biggest offensives against the autonomy-seeking rebels in five years, authorities said Tuesday. The government didn't rule out bolstering its forces in northern Iraq.
Two Turkish soldiers have also been killed in the fighting in southeastern Hakkari province, officials said. The offensive comes amid mounting rebel violence in overwhelmingly Kurdish southeastern Turkey.

Republican Convention "We did not seek this War"

by element115
No American president has more desperately sought out a war with any country than George W. Bush sought out this war with Iraq. Only Polk's war on Mexico, also based on false pretexts, even comes close to the degree of crafty manipulation employed by Bush and Cheney to get up the Iraq war. Intelligence about weapons of mass destruction was deliberately and vastly exaggerated, producing a "nuclear threat" where there wasn't even so much as a single gamma ray to be registered. Innuendo and repetition were cleverly used to tie Saddam to Usama Bin Laden operationally, a link that all serious intelligence professionals deny.

by element115
Tycoon Conrad Black and his allies looted more than 400 million dollars from the company he created to manage a global media empire, a report prepared for a US court and regulators showed.
The scathing report submitted to the Securities and Exchange Commission and a federal court for a lawsuit against Black and his associates painted a sordid picture of Black, who until last year was chief executive of Hollinger International, and the firm's chief operating officer, David Radler.

Days of plunder

by element115
The destruction of the Bamiyan Buddhas by the Taliban was met with an outcry in the United States, Britain and the countries that form the coalition in Iraq. Yet the coalition forces can now claim, among other things, the destruction of the legendary city of Babylon.
Ironically, the bombing campaign of 2003 had not damaged archeological sites. It was only in the aftermath, during the occupation, that the most extensive cultural destruction took place. At first there was the looting of the museums under the watch of coalition troops, but that was to be followed by more extensive and active destruction.

Imagine for a minute if the spy was a Muslim working for an Islamic country. If AIPAC was American Islamic Public Affairs Committee. Not only the FBI but all major news media across the US would have gone on rampage. The spy would have been convicted by the media and the public without any evidence. Commentators across the TV channels and newspapers would have found links between the spy, AIPAC, and Al-Qaeda without FBI files. Smearing campaigns against Islam would have been launched. All the Muslims in the US would have been asked to demonstrate their patriotism and condemn that guy for his involvement in espionage.

Moreover, Israel has been a faithful ally of the U.S. and deserves our support in ensuring its security. The Likudniks like to pretend that they represent American Jewry, but they do not. There is nothing anti-Semitic about protesting or pointing to our security breaches and undue influence on US policy, politicians, budgets and the Constitution (Several pro-Israel but unconstitutional resolutions have been winding through congress stripping Americans of our 1st, 4th, 5th and 10th Amendment rights while protecting Israel from scrutiny including HR4230, HR3077 and S-625). Rather it is anti-American not to object. It is our country after all. To date these organizations hide behind the Jewish faith, curbing any discussion in the mainstream press through accusations of anti-Semitism.

Here's what happened: KenoshaOnline.net was forced to disable their anonymous posting forum last Sunday following several bombs of "comments" advertising links to Web sites featuring incest, bestiality, underage sex, and just about any other dirty and/or illegal thing you could think of.

And, now, the punchline:
...according to the IP address the comments left behind, the computer generating the porn bombs is sitting in Room BF655A of the Pentagon in Washington D.C., property of the United States Department of Defense.

Normally, I wouldn't care too much about these negative pieces, based solely on anonymous police sources, but two of the recent articles in mainstream New York City daily newspapers are just so outrageous and untrue that I need to respond clearly and publicly.

The millions of Americans who tune into Madison Square Garden next week will see the pageantry of a party in full, with a primetime-friendly roster of speakers, a tightly choreographed throng of delegates and the ever present balloon cascades. They'll also catch an occasional glimpse of the less orderly theater of political protest taking place citywide.
What Americans won't see is perhaps the most important story of them all, one the mainstream media are loath to report in an election year. That, of course, is the story of the mainstream media themselves.

Why is the U.S. the only remaining bastion of support for Israel?

by element115
Admiral Thomas Moorer, former Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, has spoken with blunt exasperation about the Jewish-Israeli hold on the United States:
"I've never seen a President -- I don't care who he is -- stand up to them [the Israelis]. It just boggles the mind. They always get what they want. The Israelis know what is going on all the time. I got to the point where I wasn't writing anything down. If the American people understood what a grip those people have got on our government, they would rise up in arms. Our citizens certainly don't have any idea what goes on."

Time for Full Disclosure

by element115
The American people are entitled to also know for the sake of our Republic, if Perle, Wolfowitz, Wurmser, Feith and Abrams are Zionists. They all hold sensitive positions in the federal government that require national security clearance. If they are Zionists, then, the next question is: Do they have a conflict of interest or even an appearance of a conflict of interest in carrying out the responsibilities of their office? Answers to these questions are imperative.
Zionism is a political, alien-based ideology, global in scope, racially restricted, and with its spiritual headquarters in Tel Aviv, and not Washington, D.C.

The Voice of the White House

August 18, 2004 by element115
Here are some bits of candy for you and your readers. You will be hearing much about certain 'important terrorist revelations' allegedly obtained from the laptop of a 'top alQuaeda' operative that was 'captured' in Pakistan. Don't believe any of it, children. One of my sources in the Monkey Palace has shown me an evaluation that states that all of this has been faked from old intercepts by the Special Collections Service in Beltsville, Maryland,.who have faked other 'Osama binLaden tapes' This concocted 'intelligence' was then stuck into a Dell laptop put together in Austin, Texas and sold to a reliable Pakistani stool pigeon. This has faked 'Osama bin Laden' material on it and the White House has built a great propaganda campaign around it. The gist of the faked messages is that there will be an attack in the US just before the elections. Remember, you heard it here first! Bush is desperate to find an excuse to postpone the election because the Monkey Palace's private (and very accurate) polls show Bush below a 20% approval rating!

A unifying factor across Iraq

by element115
Imagine a Muslim army about to bomb the Vatican with the help of a few Christian mercenaries while the Pope is away, recovering from an angioplasty in London and silent about the whole drama. This is roughly what is happening in Najaf, Iraq, where the forces of Shi'ite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr and the United States stand eyeball to eyeball pending a "final showdown".

US loses big in Najaf

by element115
The US military offensive against Najaf is a dangerous and ill-judged escalation, revealing the violent reality of an occupation that has undergone only cosmetic change since the supposed handover of power to an "interim Iraqi administration" in June. For more than a week, an aggressive foreign power has addressed an essentially domestic political question by means of tanks, helicopter gunships and F16s.

Dehumanisation of the "others"

by element115
Whether in the US, Britain or in Australia, the common 'enemy' is the same kind of human who must be despised and excluded. Today it is the 'Arabs'; at other times it is the Vietnamese. Negative images of the 'others' are fuel for Western colonial war machine.
The US Invasion and Occupation of Iraq is not dissimilar from other invasions and occupations of defenceless nations by colonial powers. They all have one thing in common; invasions and occupations are based on lies and dehumanisation of the native population. Dehumanisation is central to Western colonialism, for the purpose is to portray the 'others' as unworthy of human qualities.

As the Federal Reserve overprints more money, the money supply inflates, and too much money starts chasing too few goods and services, which means prices go up. But contrary to the charade put on by the Federal Reserve, inflation doesn't just come and go due to some arcane sorcery. The Federal Reserve can halt inflation any time it wants to by simply shutting down those printing presses. It therefore follows that both inflation and recession are fully under the control of the Federal Reserve.

Global Eye -- Dark Passage

by element115
Adolf Hitler clearly spelled out his plans and launch wars of conquest to secure German domination of world affairs in his 1925 book, long before he ever assumed power.
Similarly -- in method, if not entirely in substance -- the Bush Regime's foreign policy is also being carried out according to a strict blueprint written years ago, then renewed a few months before the Regime was installed in power by the judicial coup of December 2000.
The first version, mentioned in passing here last week, was drafted by a team operating under then-Defense Secretary Dick Cheney in 1992. It set out a new doctrine for U.S. power in the 21st century, an aggressive, unilateral approach that would secure American domination of world affairs -- "by force if necessary," as one of the acolytes put it.
