U.S. hoping London blasts will unite West

by element115
With critics of British Prime Minister Tony Blair linking the attack to his decision to join the U.S.-led war in Iraq, the United States is hoping to help Blair counter such claims by pushing for a reassessment of the West's approach to terrorism. From President Bush down, the message is one of determination to fight on mixed with encouragement for democratic nations to "take off the gloves," as one American diplomat put it, in the fight against terrorism.

The birth of the London bomb Official Story

by element115
xymphora ---> You can practically hear the click at that moment in the life of every conspiracy when the police investigation turns into the Official Story. At that point, the investigation is intended to 'fix the facts' to the Official Story, and the cover-up begins. The story of the London bombs has made this transformation within the last twenty-four hours. The authorities thought it was small bombs with timers or triggered by cell phones and almost certainly not a suicide bomb attack; now they claim with certainty that the bombs were accompanied by handlers, some or all of whom may have died in the blasts, possibly by accident and probably intentionally (which means they were suicide bombers, as it is extremely unlikely that all four made a mistake). The original story was that it was an international al Qaeda operation; now it is British Muslims. In just a day or two, everything has changed.

Britain's suicide bombers

The four young men who carried out the London terror attacks were British-born suicide bombers, police sources have told Sky News.
The four travelled by car from West Yorkshire to Luton and then by train to Kings Cross station shortly before the attacks were launched on Thursday morning, police said at a press conference.

Their images were captured by CCTV cameras - one police source said the men were chatting "as though they were going on a hiking holiday".

Julianne Malveaux: USA, Bush Are 'Terrorists'

by element115
Semi-regular USA Today columnist Julianne Malveaux said Monday that President Bush is "a terrorist" and that America is "a terrorist nation."

In an interview that began with Malveaux accusing U.S. troops of "beating" terrorist suspects at Guantanamo Bay, the controversial author and economist told ABC Radio host Sean Hannity:

"Terrorism in the United States is as old as we are. You want me to give you a litany of terrorism? You want me to start with what's happened to the Indian population? You want to go on to what happened in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1921?"

"C'mon now, Sean," Malveaux told Hannity. "We are terrorists."

Asked point-blank if the U.S. was a "terrorist nation," Malveaux shot back: "Oh, Absolutely."

...she told Hannity. "George W. Bush is evil. He is a terrorist. He is evil. He is arrogant. And he is out of control."

US TELLS FORCES TO 'STAY OUT OF LONDON'

The news provoked fury from British MPs who pointed out that the UK had been America's staunchest ally in the wake of September 11.

They said it handed a symbolic victory to the terrorists.

Abu Musab al-Zarqawi Does London

by element115
Nobody knows if al-Zarqawi actually did it - same as they don't know anything else about the mercurial terrorist - but it makes sense to blame him the same way he is blamed for poison attacks in Europe, releasing a chemical cloud in Amman, 700 plus murders in Iraq during the occupation, the Canal Hotel bombing of the U.N. headquarters in Baghdad (killing the UN Secretary-general's special Iraqi envoy Sergio Vieira de Mello), and various sundry murders, including Laurence Foley, a senior U.S. diplomat working for the U.S. Agency for International Development in Jordan, and the beheading of American-Israeli dual citizen Nicholas Berg. It should be noted there is absolutely no evidence al-Zarqawi had anything to do with any of the above incidents and he is associated with them due to the careless use of adjectives such as 'purportedly' and 'possibly' habitually employed by the corporate media based on nonsense uttered by 'anonymous' and 'unnamed' administration officials and other such dissimulators and con artists.

Why the Road to 9/11 Truth Passes Through London

by element115
The parallels with 9/11 are striking. In both London and America, "Terror drills" occurred at the same time as the real attacks. In both incidences, the alleged identity of the bombers as arab militants was contradicted by substantial evidence. Both attacks involved explosions whose nature and scope indicated coordination beyond the reach of a handful of lone, deranged terrorists. And the leader of each victim country tried to stop any real investigation.

The fact that Bush and Blair lied and forced their respective countries into an unprovoked and illegal war which has killed at least 100,000 Iraqi civilians just might have something to do with the change in attitude. It has become a little more difficult to play the role of victim when you're totally covered in the blood of the innocent.

Bush's war on terror is a colossal failure

by element115
Abu Ghraib. Guantanamo Bay. Secret prisons abroad. "Renditions." Torture. Assassinations. CIA abductions, even on the friendly soil of Italy.

Fear still rules America. Even after waging a war on false pretences, Bush can find refuge from low approval ratings by continuing to link Iraq to 9/11, as he did the other day before ? where else? ? military cadets.

Our own governments are invading our privacy, suspending civil liberties, criminalizing entire communities and repeatedly exhorting us to be "vigilant," thereby risking vigilantism, the anti-thesis of the rule of law.

All this may be excusable if it were making us any safer.

Combine this with the other failed elements of the war on terror, and you can see why we don't feel reassured by even the Churchillian calls of Blair ("We shall prevail and they shall not") and Bush ("We'll find them, we'll bring them to justice.")

Blair rejects calls for probe into bombings

by element115
Tony Blair will on Monday reject Conservative demands for a government inquiry into last week's London bomb attacks, insisting such a move would distract from the task of catching the perpetrators.

As police and security services on Sunday continued searching for the bombers - thought to be Islamist terrorists - Downing Street said the prime minister believed an inquiry now into the outrage which killed at least 49 people would be a "ludicrous diversion."

Instead, in a statement to the Commons on Monday following last week's Group of Eight summit, Mr Blair is expected to focus on the direction the government must take to ensure future terrorism is defeated.

False flag over London

by element115
John Leonard ---> ...the "previously unknown" organization posting anonymously on a website. Of course, western intelligence, using Echelon and such tools, could track any web posting back to its source. If it wanted to.

"Real" terrorists are known groups that make concrete demands. They are an endangered species, if not extinct.

Fake terrorists?covert psy-war units of western intelligence?always invent a name of an "unknown" group. They have to do this, of course. If they claimed, say, that the PLO did it, the accused would energetically deny it, spoiling the show. So they use fictitious identities, which they can mold to suit the target of convenience.

Thursday's fiction was a "secret" group affiliated?oh how wonderfully convenient?with Al Qaeda and Al Zarqawi. Yet the state-owned BBC itself has established that Al Qaeda does not even exist, in its documentary film, "The Terror Myth." And just this week Dahr Jamail wrote of his trip to the town of Zarqa, on the trail of the fabled Zarqawi. The man's family believe he died years ago?no recent photos exist. Certain is only that the mythical Zarqawi's base of operations always pops up wherever the Americans want to attack?Fallujah, Samarra, where do you want to go tomorrow?

"We will stay on the offense, fighting the terrorists abroad so we do not have to face them at home," Bush said.

Why Do You Work So Hard?

by element115
Work hard and the world respects you. Work hard and you can have anything you want. Work really extra super hard and do nothing else but work and ignore your family and spend 14 hours a day at the office and make 300 grand a year that you never have time to spend, sublimate your soul to the corporate machine and enjoy a profound drinking problem and sporadic impotence and a nice 8BR mini-mansion you never spend any time in, and you and your shiny BMW 740i will get into heaven.

We are designed, weaned, trained from Day 1 to be productive members of society. And we are heavily guilted into believing that must involve some sort of droning repetitive pod-like dress-coded work for a larger corporate cause, a consumerist mechanism, a nice happy conglomerate.

But the truth is, God, the divine true spirit loves nothing more than to see you unhinge and take risk and invite regular, messy, dangerous upheaval. This is exactly the energy that thwarts the demons of stagnation and conservative rot and violent sanctimonious bloody Mel Gibson-y religion, one that would have all our work be aimed at continuously patching up our incessant potholes of ugly congenital guilt, as opposed to contributing to the ongoing orgiastic evolution of spirit.

Now the British public are firmly with the US

PM Tony Blair's approval rating jumped from 32% to 49%

Should action be taken against suspected terrorists even if they have not committed an offense yet? Jumped from 75% to 81%

Restrict the civil liberties of terror suspects even though there is not enough evidence to charge and convict them? Jumped from 58% to 70%

As a result of the terror attacks will change the way you lead your life? 88% No.

And there are signs that people are starting to wake up to the danger of Islam itself. The number of people who think Islam, as opposed to Islamic fundamentalist, poses a threat to Western democracy jumped 14%.

Why Al Qaeda Is Probably Not Behind The London Attacks

by element115
...there appears to be many holes is the so-called official statement released by the "Secret Organization of al-Qaida in Europe". The previously unknown group circulated a claim of responsibility shortly after this morning attacks, a copy of which was received by JUS however this statement has some glaring errors in it that indicated to us that this material did not likely come from Al-Qaida. JUS translates Al-Qaida statements daily in order to bring readers the other side of the war of "terror" and there are many problems with this so-called official statement.

When they die, it is "collateral damage"; when "we" die, it is "barbaric terrorism".

London Bombing has the Scent of an Inside Job

by element115
...on July 4th, Britain made the announcement that they would be pulling their troops out of Iraq over the next 18 months, but now, they have a reason to stay in Iraq, how convenient for Tony Blair and George W. Bush. Also this will help the Brittish and US Governments to Institute National ID card Programs, while tightening up "security" at all bus and train depot's, like they got with the airline industry after 9/11. More searching without probable cause, more detainments of "suspects". Then there is also the increased level of fear amongst the general populace this will generate as they pound it into the average american's head over and over again.

...when one looks at how the US 'Cointelpro' operated, placing operatives inside a number of left-wing organisations including the US Socialist Workers Party, the CPUSA and the Black Panther Party.

One American psy-ops operative recently leveled with the Australian newspaper The Age: "We were basically paying up to US$10,000 a time to opportunists and criminals who passed off fiction and supposition about Zarqawi as cast-iron fact, making him out as the linchpin of just about every attack in Iraq."

The media for its part is of course doing its bit to keep ramming home the 'al-Qu'eda' connection even though not a shred of evidence has ever been produced in or out of a court of law to show that it exists, let alone that's it's behind any of the bombings. The name is merely a mantra, like 'Red' or 'Commie', a convenient button to be pushed as and when needed.

Stupidity Versus Logic in the Latest "Terror Attack"

July 7, 2005 by element115
Wow, al Qaeda must be the stupidest terrorists, no wait, stupidest people period, on this entire planet. Their purported goal is to shake the will of the western powers that have invaded Iraq, and to drive them out, no? Then can someone please explain to me the logic of the London bombings? No seriously, it is time to apply logic to these events. Please do not hand me the nonsense about these people being "killers" who do not apply logic. You do not become the number one terrorist organization without having some logic, no? We are expected to swallow that these people were smart enough to circumvent our billion dollar intelligence and air defense systems with box cutters, but they cannot play coherent cause-effect scenarios out in their mind prior to carrying out terrorist activities?

Spin begins

by element115
Frank J. Gaffney Jr. on the London Attack on National Review Online

The death and destruction in the subway system known as the "Tube" below ground and on a bus above is a vivid reminder of a central reality of our time: While we have been spared such horrors here for nearly four years, anyone who thinks we can safely divert our attention from this threat is kidding himself, and putting the rest of us at grave risk.

At this writing, not much is known about the extent ? let alone the detailed nature or specific perpetrators ? of the bloodletting in London. What is clear, however, is that the attackers exhibited the sort of calculation and ruthlessness that has come to be associated with the ideology at the heart of the war on terror: Islamofascism.

What's Behind the London Attacks?

by element115
Only one word sprang to mind when I heard about the bombings that claimed the lives of dozens of Londoners today - convenient.

Is there anything convenient in death, or in thousands of lives destroyed from catastrophe? No - and words cannot express the sorrow I feel for the men and women changed by today's events. But governments with skeletons in their closets have a great deal to gain from a national tragedy bolstered by "terrorism."

Think about it. The attack only benefits empires desperate to maintain a foothold in the Middle East without further eroding public opinion.

The bombing of the London Underground was a false-flag operation designed to keep the West mired in war. Don't believe otherwise.

America must never contract out its torturing to some of the world's most brutal regimes. But we have.

America must not imprison indefinitely without evidence or fair trial. But we have.

"They hate the State of Israel," Kuperwasser told the forum. "The difference between them and the rest of the people in the Middle East [who hate Israel] is that they think something should be done about it. That's why they support Hamas. That's why they give money to Islamic Jihad."

Police and anti-capitalist demonstrators were involved in a series of clashes today as protests were stepped up across Scotland ahead of the G8 summit.

Virgin boss Sir Richard Branson said: "We`ve got planes, we`ve got trains and we thought it was important to bring people from America, from Africa and from London to Scotland."

A heavy police presence, drawn from forces across Britain, ensured protesters were contained away from the main financial district.

Police in full riot gear then set up lines, including a 40-strong wall of officers outside the National Galleries of Scotland.

10,000 officers from all over the country are policing the event, which will see world leaders including George Bush and Tony Blair meet at the hotel, protected by a five-mile ring of steel.

90 arrested in G8 protests

by element115
The demonstrations began peacefully as protesters, banging drums and shaking bells, marched and danced into waiting police containment cordons.

The demonstrations were part of an array of protests that began on Saturday with a 200,000-strong march through the city calling for an end to poverty in the developing world, especially Africa.

A police spokesman said late today that 21 people, including four policemen, were injured but none seriously. Most of the charges relating to the 90 arrests were for causing a disturbance.

Police force often the only hope for jobless Iraqis

by element115
Tawfiq Jamil hasn't worked since Saddam Hussein's government fell more than two years ago.

A former taxi driver, the 28-year-old was forced to sell his car after the war to try to provide for his wife and seven children, and hasn't been able to find a new job since.

Then recently, Jamil and some of the others came to the same conclusion -- things were so desperate they decided it was time to apply for probably the most dangerous job in the world.

It was time to join the Iraqi police force.

"It is a potential terrorist target," Chief Constable Vine told The Associated Press. "All our planning has been based on it both being a terrorist target and of course a target for public protest, so there is a necessity for us to have an exclusion zone."

Chris Floyd ---> President George W. Bush gave a big speech "explaining" the Iraq war to the American people. It was the usual load of lying blather and false piety -- deeply, even murderously cynical. But there's no point in wasting a single thought over these clown shows anymore. Bush is a nasty little moral cretin fronting a gang of elitist thugs whose only concerns are loot and power. Nothing he says has the slightest credibility. Only his actions -- crimes soaked with human blood -- have any meaning or truth.

Deep Impact

Mr. President...I'll fly my flag at half staff on July 4

July 2, 2005 by element115
While the war waged on, we waited for anything from our son to assure us that he and his buddies were safe. We also waited for the for the Weapons of Mass Destruction to be found - after Jeff's death I prayed for them to be found; we waited for the network of terrorism to be found and destroyed and we waited for that link of Iraq to 9/11/01; we waited to find the imminent danger which we were facing.

Were these not the basic premises on which we rushed to war. Were these not the points that this administration went to the country and to the UN and stated that they had proof. Did they not say that they had to react immediately due to the imminent danger to our safety.

America Held Hostage

by element115
A majority of Americans now realize that President Bush deliberately misled the nation to promote a war in Iraq. But Mr. Bush's speech on Tuesday contained a chilling message: America has been taken hostage by his martial dreams. According to Mr. Bush, the nation now has no choice except to keep fighting the war he wanted to fight.

Never mind that Iraq posed no threat before we invaded. Now it's a "central front in the war on terror," Mr. Bush says, quoting Osama bin Laden as an authority. And since a U.S. withdrawal from Iraq would, Mr. Bush claims, be a victory for Al Qaeda, Americans have to support this war - and that means supporting him. After all, you wage war with the president you have, not the president you want.

But America doesn't have to let itself be taken hostage. The country missed the chance to say no before this war started, but it can still say no to Mr. Bush's open-ended commitment, and demand a timetable for getting out.

How to End the War: Negotiations Now!

by element115
Justin Raimondo ---> The Americans are stalemated in Iraq, and they now face a choice: negotiations or endless conflict. The administration may wake up tomorrow to the fact that there will be no military solution to the problem of the insurgency, or it may take a year or so: in the end, however, the American people are going to rebel against the rising carnage and the lack of a clear objective, no matter how many times Bush (or his successor) conjures the specter of 9/11. The president's recent peroration was a rather ineffective attempt to hold back that tide, but the increasingly visible face of the Iraqi insurgents ? not that of Zarqawi, or Osama bin Laden, but the nationalist Samarie ? is undermining his contention that we're fighting al-Qaeda in Iraq.

We Stand at the Crossroads of History

by element115
This weekend we celebrate the Fourth of July. A holiday that commemorates our proud history, founded on freedom, paid for with the honorable blood of patriots throughout our time. From the Revolution through the Civil War Americans always stood up for what was right, through protecting the individual liberties of all. In the 20th century, Americans rose to the challenges of oppression facing the world on more than one occasion. Respect was earned and deserved. Every time we faced a crossroads, we answered the challenge and took the right path regardless of the difficulty.

The 21st century does not reflect so kindly upon this heritage. It has been spoiled by people who wrap themselves in the flag but only represent greed. That tragic fact that blood has to be spilled to feed this greed is not relevant to them. They claim the mantle of Christianity, but do not represent the teachings of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace. They come under a banner that reads, ?Culture of Life? while embracing the politics of death. We walk around every day trying to be politically correct. You don?t say the president lied; you say his statements were not borne out to be factually accurate. You don?t say that the president lied to go to war; you say the intelligence was poor. Everyone dances around the truth, afraid to confront the fact that the enemy is thyself.

USA to unleash war on Iran?

by element115
The informational preparation has already been launched.

As the scandal about the alleged terrorist past of the Iranian president-elect grows up, it's becoming obvious that the world is witnessing a smear campaign not unlike those aimed at Milosevic and Hussein on the eve of the US-led aggressions against Yugoslavia in 1999 and Iraq in 2003.
The current allegations that Iran's president-elect was one of the hostage-takers in 1979 is most likely intended to turn Ahmedinejad into a devil incarnate in the US public opinion.

The War President

by element115
America's founders knew all too well how war appeals to the vanity of rulers and their thirst for glory. That's why they took care to deny presidents the kingly privilege of making war at their own discretion.

But after 9/11 President Bush, with obvious relish, declared himself a "war president." And he kept the nation focused on martial matters by morphing the pursuit of Al Qaeda into a war against Saddam Hussein.
