Paris attacked: shootings and explosions leave at least 158 dead

November 13, 2015 by element115
At least 158 people have died in Paris in a seemingly coordinated wave of gun and suicide bomb attacks, prompting the French president, François Hollande, to declare a state of emergency and bring in controls on the country’s borders.

“It was horrible, there were so many corpses, I just can’t talk about it,” said a bearded man in a T-shirt as he ran down the street from the Bataclan in shock.

The French TV station BFMTV said the gunmen who attacked the Bataclan had shouted “It’s for Syria” before opening fire.

Twenty-First-Century Fascism

October 21, 2015 by element115
Globalization of trade and central banking has propelled private corporations to positions of power and control never before seen in human history. Under advanced capitalism, the structural demands for a return on investment require an unending expansion of centralized capital in the hands of fewer and fewer people. The financial center of global capitalism is so highly concentrated that less than a few thousand people dominate and control $100 trillion of wealth.

The few thousand people controlling global capital amounts to less than 0.0001 percent of the world’s population. They are the transnational capitalist class (TCC), who, as the capitalist elite of the world, dominate nation-states through international trade agreements and transnational state organizations such as the World Bank, the Bank for International Settlements, and the International Monetary Fund.

The TCC communicates their policy requirements through global networks such as the G-7 and G-20, and various nongovernmental policy organizations such as the World Economic Forum, the Trilateral Commission, and the Bilderberger Group. The TCC represents the interests of hundreds of thousands of millionaires and billionaires who comprise the richest people in the top 1 percent of the world’s wealth hierarchy.

High Stakes – Cleaning Up After Harper

by element115
Canadians couldn’t have been much clearer on Monday when they hit the polls in numbers that haven’t been see for decades: The Harper era is history after some ten years of Conservative rule led by outgoing Prime Minister, Stephen Harper. Elected with a decisive majority, Justin Trudeau and the Liberal Party of Canada have been given a mandate for change. Canadians were no doubt sick of the divisive politics, our crumbling international reputation, our fragile resource-burdened economy, and a government who was relentless in its bidding for Big Oil.

The MH-17 ‘Report’ — Paul Craig Roberts

October 14, 2015 by element115
As I wrote at the time of the airliner’s destruction, the Western media already had “the-Russians-did-it” story ready the moment the airliner was reported to be shot down. This story was very useful to Washington in hardening its European vassal states into sanctions against Russia, as there was some dissent. What Washington has never explained and the Western media has never asked is: What motive did separatists and Russia have to shoot down a Malaysian airliner?

None whatsoever. The Russian government would never allow such a thing. Putin would have immediately strung up those responsible.

Washington’s story makes no sense whatsoever. Only an idiot could believe it.

Why Is the US So Afraid of Probe Into 'Accidental' Kunduz Hospital Attack?

by element115
Not trusting the United States to investigate itself, Doctors Without Borders (MSF) on Wednesday called for the International Humanitarian Fact-Finding Commission to conduct an inquiry into the US airstrike on its hospital in Kunduz.

That same day, US State Department spokesman John Kirby said the United States rejects calls for an independent international investigation. He insisted that the Pentagon remained confident it will conduct a "thorough and transparent inquiry," and does not need any outside body to investigate the attack.

ISIS ON THE RUN: Russian Airstrikes Totally Obliterate Terrorist Forces in Just 72 Hours

October 5, 2015 by element115
Russia has just achieved, in 72 hours, what the West failed to do in an entire year.

Numerous news outlets are now reporting that ISIS forces are in total disarray and even, in some cases, completely on the run following the start of Russian airstrikes last week.

Russian Lt. Gen. Andrei Kartapolov said that “intelligence has captured that militants are leaving the areas under their control“, and, most importantly, he added that “panic and desertion have begun in their ranks. About 600 mercenaries have left their positions and are trying to get to Europe“.

Due to this runaway success, Kartapolov said “we will not only continue conducting our airstrikes, but will also increase their intensity“, where the Russians will be targeting “command and control centers, ammunition and explosives warehouses, communication centers, mini-factories for the production of weapons of suicide bombings and militant training camps“.

TPP signed: the ‘biggest global threat to the internet’ agreed

by element115
“The TPP is likely to export some of the worst features of U.S. copyright law to Pacific Rim countries: a broad ban on breaking digital locks on devices and creative works (even for legal purposes), a minimum copyright term of the lifetime of the creator plus seventy years (the current international norm is the lifetime plus fifty years), privatization of enforcement for copyright infringement, ruinous statutory damages with no proof of actual harm, and government seizures of computers and equipment involved in alleged infringement,” wrote Katitza Rodriguez and Maira Sutton.

The changes could also lead to huge new rules about surveillance.

“Under this TPP proposal, Internet Service Providers could be required to "police" user activity (i.e. police YOU), take down internet content, and cut people off from internet access for common user-generated content,” write Expose The TPP, a campaign group opposing the agreement.

Media Are Blamed as US Bombing of Afghan Hospital Is Covered Up

by element115
A US-led NATO military coalition bombed a hospital run by international humanitarian aid organization Doctors Without Borders (known internationally as Medecins Sans Frontières, MSF) in Afghanistan, killing at least 22 people—12 staff members and 10 patients, including three children—and wounding 37 more.

The hospital was repeatedly & precisely hit during each aerial raid, while the rest of the compound was left mostly untouched.

Morever, the aid group explained that the “bombing in Kunduz continued for more than 30 minutes after American and Afghan military officials in Kabul and Washington were first informed by MSF that its hospital was struck.” That is to say, the US persisted in bombing a hospital that it explicitly knew before and during the attack was a hospital.

If you read US corporate media coverage of this incident, however, US culpability would likely not be evident. Instead, readers would learn that a hospital was bombed in Afghanistan, and that people died. Who exactly carried out the bombing would not be clear.

Propaganda War Begins: Russia's Syria Strikes Targeted US-Backed "Moderate" Rebels, West Says

by element115
With the US having officially lost control of the narrative in Syria now that The Kremlin has called Washington’s bluff on the battle to eradicate ISIS and eliminate the Sunni extremist elements that threaten to wrest control of Syria from President Bashar al-Assad, the only remaining question after Russian lawmakers officially cleared the way for airstrikes was how long it would be before the Western media began shouting about Russian warplanes bombing targets that aren’t affiliated with ISIS.

"But with the exception of the area east of the town of Salamiyah in Hama province, none of the areas listed by the Syrian regime have a known presence of Islamic State fighters. They are largely dominated by relatively moderate rebel factions and Islamist groups like Ahrar al-Sham and the al Qaeda affiliate the Nusra Front."

Yes, “relatively moderate rebel factions like al-Qaeda" (check the above, WSJ actually said that) which in July kidnapped the commander and deputy commander of the Pentagon’s ragtag group of US-trained rebels that was supposed to number in the thousands by now but has been reduced to just “four or five” men and which was humiliated last Friday when the remaining fighters were forced to surrender their pickup trucks and ammo to al-Nusra in order to “secure safe passage” to who knows where.

Considering that, and considering the "solid" relationship the US has always maintained with al-Qaeda, it sure would be a shame if a few al-Nusra operatives wound up as collateral damage in Russia’s air campaign.

Then there's The Telegraph with an epic attempt to spin the news with a single headline: "Putin defies West as Russia bomb 'Syrian rebel targets instead of Isil'".

Russia FM Lavrov Calls Out US For Protecting ISIS; Says US Has 'Ulterior Motives' In Syria

September 15, 2015 by element115
What has been well-known amongst informed observers for quite some time is now becoming so obvious that it is almost impossible to hide except from the most gullible members of the general public – that fact the United States is not only not interested in fighting ISIS, but they are actively protecting and shielding it.

In truth, the US relationship with ISIS goes much deeper since the US created, armed, and trained the terrorist organization from its inception for the purpose of destroying the secular government of Bashar al-Assad and providing a bogeyman for the fearful masses back home to justify a greater police state and foreign military adventurism.

So far, only select members of the alternative media have successfully exposed the US role in the creation and support of ISIS. Undoubtedly, the directors and controllers of the Western mainstream press know much more than what they pretend to understand, and certainly much more than what they print. Foreign governments, silent as they may be, are also clearly aware of who created this terrorist threat and why.

Now, however, some state actors are becoming bolder when it comes to calling out the nature of the Syrian crisis, aside from the Assad government who has been calling out the United States and NATO for years on the issue.

The Syrian Crisis: A War Waged on Russia by US-NATO

by element115
It seems clear now that the West wants to defeat Russia in Syria at all costs. This latest protracted confrontation in the Middle East can be understood as a proxy war of the US and NATO against Putin’s resurgent Russia. But Syria is just one zone of engagement in a much wider war against Russia that has been taking place since Putin started to stand up to the West. The same confrontation also occurs in Ukraine and formerly in Georgia, where Russia successfully halted, albeit temporarily, the Western advance. This amounts to a new Cold War or an undeclared war where East and West are once more in global confrontation.

Germany moves away from the US anti-Putin alliance and joins forces with Russia in coalition to defeat ISIS

by element115
In a surprise move Germany left the anti-Putin-alliance formed by the USA: Germany is now officially welcoming Moscow's readiness to act in Syria and is starting an initiative together with the Russians and the French to bring an end to the war. This is to stop the constant stream of refugees. Germany has ordered thousands of soldiers into readiness.

Germany surprisingly left the alliance formed together with the United States which intended to block Russia's entry into the Syrian conflict.

Minister of Defence Ursula von der Leyen told Der Spiegel that she welcomed president Putin's intentions of joining the fight against the extremist organization "Islamic State". It would be a matter of mutual interests, she said.

Actually, nothing unexpected is happening. There is a global war in hybrid form. Opponents are striking each other with blows, feeling weaknesses, and defending themselves against enemy counterattacks.

For Washington, everything is at stake. For them, nothing has changed. They are trying to defend their right to global hegemony and single-handedly robbing the whole world. Because of this, we cannot rely on agreements which will be respected only at times when they are profitable. No one has any illusions on this score. The masks are cast off and the (hybrid) guns are loaded.

Secret Back Story Reveals Why The West Cannot Topple Syria's Government

by element115
The Anglo-American Axis does not yet understand the seriousness of the war crimes that they have committed in Syria. Each act of violence against the people and their property has been recorded. Every act of wanton destruction and needless killing has been catalogued for the purposes of accountability. Russia and their allies are watching the conduct of ISIS and how they are supplied and financed. It is common knowledge that the Israeli-Anglo-American intelligence services have coordinated the attacks on Syria from the very beginning of this manufactured civil war.

At the end of the day, the AAA will be held responsible for their actions and inactions which directly contributed to this terrible tragedy. The Syrian Civil War has created the greatest European immigration crisis of the modern era.

The Western creation of ISIS stands as a glaring testament to how desperate the USA & Company is to control every square inch of the Middle East, especially the oil and gas reserves. Not only were billions of dollars in armaments and munitions intended for Iraq surreptitiously sent to Syria, fleets of brand-new Toyotas have been paraded all over the ever-changing battlefield reflecting direct Western involvement. In fact without Western war financing and weapons supply, ISIS, ISIL and the Islamic State would have already collapsed.

White House: Russian Military Action Against ISIS in Syria Would be 'Destabilizing'

by element115
the White House, which began bombing Syria last August in violation of both international and US law, has declared that any Russian involvement in the Syria crisis would be "destabilizing and counterproductive."

Apparently a year of US bombs is not "destabilizing."

This is where the hypocrisy is so thick you could cut it with a knife. The US is illegally bombing Syria, illegally violating Syrian sovereignty, illegally training and equipping foreign fighters to overthrow the Syrian government, and has backed radical jihadists through covert and overt programs.

ISIS and al-Qaeda in Syria were solely the products of the 2003 US invasion of Iraq under false pretenses -- the lies of the neocons -- and after a year of US bombing ISIS seems as strong as ever while scores of civilians are killed by US attacks.

All of this is perfectly fine and should never be questioned. But even the hint that the Russians, who have had to contend with their fair share of radical Islam and are much closer to Syria than the US, may have an interest in joining the fight against ISIS is met with hysterical reproaches by White House.

In Washington, the State Department issued a statement after U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry called Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to express concern over unconfirmed reports "suggesting an imminent enhanced Russian military build-up" in Syria.

If these extraordinarily powerful images of a dead Syrian child washed up on a beach don’t change Europe’s attitude to refugees, what will?

September 2, 2015 by element115
They are extraordinary images and serve as a stark reminder that, as European leaders increasingly try to prevent refugees from settling in the continent, more and more refugees are dying in their desperation to flee persecution and reach safety.

In Britain, David Cameron and Philip Hammond have been criticised for the “dehumanising” language they use to describe refugees.

The Prime Minister described refugees coming to the UK as a “swarm”, and later said he would not “allow people to break into our country”.

Hammond, the Foreign Secretary, said refugees were “marauding” around Calais.

Amnesty International called his comments “shameful”.

Israeli Minister Agrees Ahmadinejad Never Said Israel 'Must Be Wiped Off the Map'

August 26, 2015 by element115
In a reminder that Persian rhetoric is not always easy for English-speakers to interpret, a senior Israeli official has acknowledged that Iran’s president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, never actually said that Israel “must be wiped off the map.”

Still, over the years, the original misinterpretation of Mr. Ahmadinejad’s remarks has been so often repeated that it has become a kind of shorthand. “In my conversations with Americans,” Mr. Majd said, very often they respond to the name Ahmadinejad by saying, “He wants to eliminate Israel.”

It remains so firmly rooted in the popular imagination that it is frequently used as evidence of Iran’s genocidal intentions.

And why do Israel’s air raids on Syria always target Syrian government or pro-Syrian Iranian forces, but never Isis? Iceland, the land of freedom and true democracy, grows booming economy after jailing bankster criminals

July 6, 2015 by element115
Banks around the world are no longer the quaint little savings-and-loan depositories of yesterday. Today, most of them are owned or co-opted by giant mega-wealthy criminal conglomerates that charge customers for everything from cash deposits to ATM fees.

One Western country finally figured out that allowing these criminal enterprises to continue operating business as usual was hurting growth and destroying its economy, so its government decided to make some serious reforms.

Instead of bailing out the big criminal banking enterprises, Iceland instead chose to try, convict and jail criminal banksters. And as a result, the country has the fastest recovering economy in all of fiscally moribund Europe.

Left unsaid is the fact a large portion of the debt totaling about €245 billion was fraudulently dumped on the country in the course of huge bank bailouts in 2010 and 2012.

“And since the huge bank bailouts, ‘Greek debt’ exists only on the basis of the Wall Street practice for unpayable debt, known as ‘extend and pretend.’ Its interest and repayment terms have been so dramatically changed by the creditors — in a backhanded admission that it cannot be paid — that in debt-market terms, it is nearly worthless.”

Greece’s fight is for democracy in Europe. That’s why we must support it

by element115
From the cradle of democracy, a lion has roared.
It is difficult to overstate the pressure the Greek people have both endured and defied. A country that has already experienced an austerity-induced economic disaster with few precedents among developed nations in peacetime has suffered a sustained campaign of economic and political warfare. The European Central Bank – which has only recently deigned to publish some of the minutes of its meetings – capped liquidity for Greek banks, driving them to the verge of collapse. There were stringent capital controls, and desperate queues outside banks followed. A country desperate to stay within the euro was told it would be ejected, and with calamitous results.

Nuland’s Nemesis

by element115
A putsch in Athens to save allied Greece from enemy Russia is in preparation by the US and Germany, with backing from the non-taxpayers of Greece – the Greek oligarchs, Anglo-Greek shipowners, and the Greek Church. At the highest and lowest level of Greek government, and from Thessaloniki to Milvorni, all Greeks understand what is happening. Yesterday they voted overwhelmingly to resist. According to a high political figure in Athens, a 40-year veteran, “what is actually happening is a slow process of regime change.”

The Kremlin understands too. So when the State Department’s Victoria Nuland visited Athens to issue an ultimatum against breaking the anti-Russian sanctions regime, and the Anglo-American think-tanks followed with warnings the Russian Navy is about to sail into Piraeus, the object of the game has been clear. The line for Operation Nemesis has been that Greece must be saved, not from itself or from its creditors, but from the enemy in Moscow. The Russian line has been to do nothing to give credence to that propaganda; to wait and to watch.

Why Bernie Sanders praises Greek no vote

by element115
Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders praised the Greek people for voting down austerity measures that would lead to new loans for the country in crisis.

“I applaud the people of Greece for saying ‘no' to more austerity for the the poor, the children, the sick and the elderly,” Sanders said. “In a world of massive wealth and income inequality Europe must support Greece's efforts to build an economy which creates more jobs and income, not more unemployment and suffering."

Greece, You are on the verge of freeing your nation from the debt money system. Don’t let us down now.

by element115
Yesterday was America’s 239th birthday of freedom. Was it coincidence or some sort of Godly serendipity that today may well be celebrated by future generations of Greeks as their independence day – the day they said NO to the debt money system.
Today, the people of Greece struck a major blow for world for freedom – if for no other reason then they voted overwhelmingly against a bailout agreement the terms of which had not been written.

Greece – What You are not Being Told by the Media

July 5, 2015 by element115
Every single mainstream media has the following narrative for the economic crisis in Greece: the government spent too much money and went broke; the generous banks gave them money, but Greece still can’t pay the bills because it mismanaged the money that was given. It sounds quite reasonable, right?

Except that it is a big fat lie … not only about Greece, but about other European countries such as Spain, Portugal, Italy and Ireland who are all experiencing various degrees of austerity. It was also the same big, fat lie that was used by banks and corporations to exploit many Latin American, Asian and African countries for many decades.

Greece did not fail on its own. It was made to fail.

Wikileaks claims NSA spied on three French presidents

June 23, 2015 by element115
President François Hollande has called an emergency national defence council meeting after allegations by the online whistleblower WikiLeaks that America's National Security Agency (NSA) spied on three successive French presidents.

The announcement came just hours after WikiLeaks published documents it says show that the National Security Agency spied on top French government figures from at least 2006 until 2012.

“The top secret documents derive from directly targeted NSA surveillance of the communications of French Presidents Francois Hollande (2012–present), Nicolas Sarkozy (2007–2012), and Jacques Chirac (1995–2007), as well as French cabinet ministers and the French Ambassador to the United States,” it said in a statement.

US and British Spies Targeted Antivirus Companies

June 22, 2015 by element115
When the Russian security firm Kaspersky Lab disclosed recently that it had been hacked, it noted that the attackers, believed to be from Israel, had been in its network since sometime last year.

Now newly published documents released by Edward Snowden show that the NSA and its British counterpart, GCHQ, were years ahead of Israel and had engaged in a systematic campaign to target not only Kaspersky software but the software of other antivirus and security firms as far back as 2008.

Pope urges changes to avoid 'unprecedented damage' from climate change in leaked encyclical document

June 16, 2015 by element115
Pope Francis warned that the world is heading for “unprecedented destruction” unless mankind confronts climate change and reforms the way it treats the planet.

“The economic powers shall continue to justify the current world system, in which speculation and and the aim for financial returns to prevail that tend to ignore each context and the effects on the environment and on human dignity. So clearly it reveals that environmental, human and ethical degradation are intimately connected.”

“The warming caused by the enormous consumption of some rich countries has repercussions in the poorest places on earth, especially in Africa.

U.S. House Admits Nazi Role in Ukraine

June 15, 2015 by element115
When even the hawkish House of Representatives can’t stomach these Nazi storm troopers who have served as Kiev’s tip of the spear against the ethnic Russian population of eastern Ukraine, what does that say about the honesty and integrity of the New York Times when it finds these same Nazis so admirable?

And it wasn’t like the Times didn’t have space to mention the Nazi taint. The article provided much color and detail – quoting an Azov leader prominently – but just couldn’t find room to mention the inconvenient truth about how these Nazis had played a key role in the ongoing civil war on the U.S. side. The Times simply referred to Azov as a “volunteer unit.”

Bilderberg and Trade Treaties: The Shadow Government That Rules the World

by element115
Julian Assange and Wikileaks exposed part of the secret behind Obama’s Trans Pacific Partnership, which leading Republicans signed. Senator Jeff Sessions, a Republican from Alabama, was one of the few senators who publicly challenged the secret Obama treaty that, according to the 17 documents released by Wikileaks, will cover over 80% of the U.S. economy and create what Sessions called “global governance,” establishing a global government without the knowledge or consent of the America people.

The end game for Bilderberg is a one world government, one world religion, and one world economic system, which are outlined in Revelation Chapter 13. They want total control over the masses, whom they see as their slaves. They select and choose almost all presidents and heads of intelligence and law enforcement agencies and they completely control the Democratic and Republican parties. This is why, no matter what the polls say, the Democrats and Republicans will support things like Trade Treaties and numerous other legislation that the American public does not want.

Canada’s Harper Government Provides Military Training to Neo-Nazi Ukraine National Guard

by element115
The gist of Harper’s flash visit to Kiev prior to the G7 Summit was to reaffirm Canada’s commitment to the dispatch of “military instructors” in support of Ukraine’s National Guard, which is controlled by the two Neo-Nazi parties, Svoboda and Right Sector.

In April, Washington confirmed that it would send in a US contingent of instructors “of 290 specialists which will be working with the National Guard. Britain has dispatched 75 military personnel responsible for training “in command procedures and tactical intelligence”. (Los Angeles Times, April 20, 2015).

Ironically, the Harper government quite candidly acknowledged that there were Neo-Nazi elements within the National Guard, and that provisions were being envisaged to prevent Canadian military instructors from training Neo-Nazis

German Banker: Obama Is Destroying Europe

by element115
“It is indeed irritating. People who are focused not only on Western ‘quality media’ are amazed at those media hiding the aggression of Kiev and the discriminatory laws implemented by the Government in Kiev, which constitute a serious challenge to the claim that Western values and democracy are being supported by the West. I believe, to Mr Steinmeier’s credit, that he is in fact talking plainly about these matters behind closed doors. The question is whether the behavior of the Atlantic alliance supports Mr. Steinmeier. I refer in this regard especially to Victoria Nuland. The fact is that by the coup in the Ukraine, an oligarchy friendly towards Moscow was replaced by an oligarchy now oriented toward the United States. It’s geopolitics, which benefits third forces, but definitely not Germany, not the EU, not Russia, and not Ukraine.” So, he sees U.S. as having gained at the expense of every other country, but especially at Europe’s expense.

Putin Says US Imperial Footprint Unmatched: 'Draw a Map and See'

by element115
"U.S. military spending is higher than that of all countries in the world taken together," Putin said. "The aggregate military spending of NATO countries is 10 times, note—10 times higher than that of the Russian Federation."

"I invite you to publish the world map in your newspaper and to mark all the U.S. military bases on it," Putin continued. "You will see the difference."

...from the comments section:

Ye Gods!
*I remember when Russia was our ally and friend in WW-II.
* I remember when suddenly Russia was the enemy.
* I remember when the US encircled China and the CCCP with bases.
* I remember all the brinksmanship, the enormous buildup of arms and missiles to "combat the 'Communist Threat'."
* I remember the dissolution of the CCCP, and the world breathing a sigh of relief for finally "peace in our time."
* I remember the panic amongst the arms merchants and the Legislature over the loss of profits because there was no threat.
* I remember the black op of 911 and the huge buildup of arms and fear and surveillance to curtail the "Muslim Threat."
* Now, with the most powerful Wehrmacht the world has ever seen, the US is starting the Cold War all over again to keep those arms profits coming in. Now, we are pouring trillions into building more nuclear weapons.
* Now the US is so poor it cannot help its own people. Hunger, fear, police brutality, homelessness are making the usually docile people a bit restive, so the Police State grows as the fears grow amongst the 0.001%.
* I'm sure glad I am an old man. Couldn't live through this cycle again, but I sure feel sorry for the youth of this nation, the youth of the world.

Alexis Tsipras – Let’s not be fooled

by element115
Let’s not be fooled:

The crucial element in the negotiation is not just the reforms required by our partners to conclude the program. The critical factor is to break the vicious cycle of this crisis. And this can only be achieved by changing the “recipe” — by terminating tough austerity that produces recession, and combined with an effective solution for the sustainability of the debt. Because truth be told, this is the only way that the Greek economy will once again become safe for investors and markets.

Unfortunately, the proposals submitted by the institutions are clearly unrealistic, and are a step backwards compared with the common ground that was reached with great difficulties during the negotiations.

I could not imagine that the politicians–if not the technocrats–would believe that after five years of devastating austerity under the Memorandum, there would be a single Greek MP that would vote in favor of repealing the EKAS (Pensioners’ Social Solidarity Benefit) for low income pensioners and for increasing VAT by 10% on electricity.

Will the leaders of Germany and France continue to bend to the U.S. diktat? Or are they more likely, this time, to stand up on their own feet and resist pressure from the U.S. and its UK lackey for continued punitive sanctions against Russia?

Jihadists in the service of imperialism

June 1, 2015 by element115
Western governments no longer hide the fact that they’re using jihadists - NATO overthrew Mouamar el-Kadhafi by using al-Qaïda as its its only ground forces; Israël displaced the UN Forces to Golan, and replaced them with al-Nosra; the international anti-Daesh Coalition allowed Palmyra to fall in order to cause more problems for Syria. The Murderers of Kiev

April 17, 2015 by element115
Ukraine’s gangster regime shows its true colors.

There seems to be a “suicide” epidemic afflicting opponents of the current Ukrainian government – nine opposition politicians and two journalists have mysteriously died since the beginning of the year.

US taxpayers have shelled out billions to a regime that is one of the most corrupt – and, now, one of the most repressive – regimes in the world. And the Obama administration continues to support the gangsters of Kiev, even stationing US troops there for “training” purposes – for they are the mutant progeny of Washington’s “democracy promotion” project. Ukraine is a convenient base from which to achieve the ultimate goal of this project – regime change in Russia itself, a deadly dangerous game that could well spark a nuclear confrontation.

What more evidence is needed that US foreign policy is utter madness?

Why are the Western media silent about these political assassinations? And all of this happened after 9 “mysterious suicides” in Ukraine in the last 2 months.

Thousands of Ukrainians Protest at the US Embassy

The racist-fascist (or “nazi”) anti-Russian regime that the U.S. installed in a February 2014 coup does not permit protest (except from its small right: the few overt nazis demanding even more militancy); so, the only way that thousands of Ukrainians were safely able to express their loathing of the U.S. Embassy in Kiev on April 1st was by mooing as a non-verbal expression against the regime-controllers inside the compound, telling them, in effect, “We are not cattle.” However, at the end of the protest, someone managed to throw cow-dung at the compound.

Ukraine: Banning Communism and Donbass Autonomy

by element115
All police states operate the same way. Their rules alone apply. International laws, norms and standards are ignored.

Anyone opposing their authority is targeted for elimination. State terror is official policy.

So are one-party rule, rigged elections when held, wars against invented enemies, media control, concentrated wealth and power, and government serving monied interests exclusively.

Kiev’s regime is Nazified, ruthless, belligerent and illegitimate. Elections when held are farcical. They mock real ones.

Ukraine’s US-installed regime reflects the reemergence of Nazism in Europe’s heartland for the first time since WW II.

Kiev officials lie denying it. Their claims don’t wash. They intend passing legislation banning communism, its ideology, symbols, influence and message.

According to justice minister Pavel Petrenko, “before May 9 (victory over Nazism commemorations), parliament will pass a decommunization package.”

Germany's Merkel Comes Out as Basically a U.S. Agent

April 1, 2015 by element115
On Wednesday, April 1st, German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s cabinet approved a measure to bring fracking (the patents for which are owned mainly by “large American companies, including Halliburton, Baker Hughes and Schlumberger”) into Germany. This is a prelude not only to U.S. President Obama’s secret Trans-Atlantic Trade & Investment Partnership (TTIP) pact with Europe to subordinate national laws and regulations to trans-national mega-corporate panels that will be dominated by U.S. firms and that will override the participating nations’ environmental and labor regulations and consumer protections (and harm European economies generally), but it is also a major step toward removing Europe from Russia’s energy-market, and bringing U.S. and European oil companies to dominate there instead.

Obama administration releases top-secret doc revealing Israel's nuclear program

by element115
On Wednesday, Israel National News reported that the Obama administration "quietly" declassified a top-secret 1987 Defense Department report outlining Israel's nuclear program.

Worse yet, Ari Yashar and Matt Wanderman said, the U.S. "reportedly" breached a silent agreement to keep Israel's program under wraps. The timing of the report was also questionable, they added, citing tensions between Netanyahu and Obama.

...the declassification of the report was either "largely missed" or ignored by the so-called "mainstream media.

US Torture Program: A Terrifying Reality That Cannot Go Unpunished

by element115
The international civil society, however, needs to know what exactly happened in Iraq and Afghanistan, and/or what is still happening in America’s secret prisons and detention centers around the world. The photos are the best evidence and their disclosure would help the world better understand how the torture program has become a tool in the arsenal of US presidents.

The international community should turn its collective gaze back to the torture program and its horrifying details. Some of the released photos have already shed light on just how far the US government has descended away from morality.

Study: U.S. "War On Terror" Has Left Over 1 Million Dead in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan

by element115
Officially ignored are casualties, injured or killed, involving enemy combatants and civilians.(4) This, of course, comes as no surprise. It is not an oversight but a deliberate omission.

The 21st century has seen a loss of innocent civilian life at an unprecedented scale, especially in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan. Nobody should even dare to ask the question whether it was worth it! As independent U.S. journalist Nir Rosen noted, “the hundreds of thousands of dead Iraqis are not better off, […] the children who lost their fathers aren’t better off, […] the hundreds and thousands of refugees are not better off.”

CISA Isn't Cybersecurity, It's Cyber-Surveillance

March 25, 2015 by element115
"I see CISA as another attempt at expanding all the powers that the government already has," former National Security Agency agent and whistleblower J. Kirk Wiebe told Dissent NewsWire. In his 30 years of experience at the NSA, Wiebe says, the one tactic the secretive agency has used most persistently has been fighting encryption keys. He says that the threats the state constantly cites are nothing but a "ploy by the government to put out plausible rationale why people's data should not be encrypted."

Moscow Demands Removal of US Nuclear Missiles from Europe

by element115
Russia increased tension over NATO nuclear missiles Tuesday with a demand that the United States remove all non-strategic nuclear weapons from Europe.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich referred to comments by Jen Psaki, his counterpart at the U.S. State Department, that U.S. missiles are under constant U.S. control, as distorted. He added that deployment of U.S. missiles in European NATO countries is a violation of the 1968 Treaty on Nuclear Weapons Non-Proliferation.

Israel “Spied On the United States” During Iran Nuclear Negotiations

by element115
In a leading article published on Monday, the paper said it decided to reveal the existence of the Israeli spying program after interviewing “more than a dozen current and former US and Israeli diplomats, intelligence officials, policy makers and lawmakers”. Ironically, according to The Journal, the administration of US President Barack Obama found out about the Israeli spying after instructing American intelligence agencies to conduct a counterintelligence operation against Tel Aviv, in order to see what they knew about the secret negotiations with Iran. After spying on Israeli government officials, the American agencies concluded that they were in possession of confidential information that could only have been acquired from spying on participants in the negotiations.

According to The Journal, American officials were not surprised by the spying. But they were especially perturbed, said the paper, to find out that the Israeli government proceeded to leak the secret information to American lawmakers opposed to a possible deal with Iran, in order “to undermine US diplomacy”, according to one unnamed senior American official.

Private army in Kiev: Why oil stand-off in Ukraine shows oligarchs won Maidan revolution

by element115
Whatever the outcome of the stand-off between President Petro Poroshenko and his subordinate Igor Kolomoysky may be, their conflict over Ukrainian oil giant Ukrnafta reveals realities about post-Maidan Ukraine which mainstream media manages to circumvent.

Firstly, the country is still ruled by oligarchs, not by the people, even though Igor Kolomoysky is formally governor of Dnepropetrovsk region. Kolomoysky’s private army simply took control first of Ukrtransnafta (Ukraine’s oil transportation monopoly) and later of Ukrnafta. What does this tell us about the Ukrainian state?

Secondly, Ukraine’s oligarchs are not at peace with each other; the country is bracing for a major ‘war for assets’ between the country’s richest men (Kolomoysky is worth $2.4 billion on the Forbes list and ‘The Chocolate King’ Poroshenko is worth $1.3 billion).

The ISIS Described by the US Media as a “Sunni Muslim Militia” is “Made in America”

by element115
When the Islamophobic Western media equates ISIS barbarity and inhumanity to the normative Islamic term “Sunni” (which literally means followers of orthodox Islam), the Western media is simply serving US Hegemonic interests: by ensuring that neo-colonial and hegemonic forces will continue unabated the rising Islamophobia against Muslims and by effectively maligning Sunni Islam which is the prevalent school of Islamic jurisprudence in the Middle East and the rest of the Muslim world.

If ISIS is not a Sunni militia, then who are they working for?

Who employed them to wreck havoc in the Middle East?

Why is it that the US government and its NATO allies cannot seriously fight ISIS in Iraq, Syria and the rest of the Levant? ISIS is US-made monster! ISIS Caliphate is never an Islamic Caliphate.

It is a “U.S.-made Caliphate” that does not have any binding authority whatsoever over worldwide Muslims.

For what purpose are they doing these despicable acts? If they are truly Islamic fighters bent on fighting for the rights of Islam and the Muslims, then why do they bomb Sunni Muslim mosques, Sufi Muslim shrines and Shi’ite Muslim prayer halls of their co-religionists?

Israel is protesting Hungary’s Eurovision entry

by element115
Israeli Ambassador Ilan Mor turned to the Hungarian broadcasting authority, expressed his country’s reservations over the planned song and asked that the problematic segment be removed.

Hungary’s song this year, “Wars for Nothing,” will be performed by a group of three singers led by Hungarian singer-songwriter Boggie. The song has an anti-war message, focusing on the victims of violence and wars in the world. One of the captions in the song’s video refers to Operation Protective Edge, stating: “2014 – Gaza – two-thirds of the victims were civilians, including more than 500 children.”

Although Israel isn’t mentioned by name in the song, Ambassador Mor asked the Hungarian broadcasting authority to remove the sentence about the Gaza war, explaining that it is seen as an “inconvenient” political message against Israel.

Crimes against Palestinian Children

by element115
Look carefully, look tenderly, don’t turn away. Please don’t turn away as all the nations of the world have, for decades, turned away from Palestine.

We rightly condemn Germans who silently looked away from the Nazi death camps; silence on Palestine over 67 years is more culpable and unconscionable than that of the German citizens of the Third Reich.

We have a choice between love and silent complicity; between parallel worlds gruesomely connected: the world of the wounded child, the parents, the doctors and nurses, the Red Crescent paramedics fighting to save lives, and- the other world of the Israeli child killers and maimers backed by world governments and their armament industries.

US Convoy March is 'Shocking Spectacle Fitting Imperialistic Ambitions'

by element115
The US military convoy marching through Eastern Europe, including the Czech Republic, to its base in Germany is a "shocking spectacle in keeping with the US’ imperialistic ambitions," Petr Hájek, editor-in-chief of the Protiproud website.

Hájek described the US initiative, nicknamed the Dragoon Ride, as "a show of force … aimed at the Czech society," not at someone on the outside, for instance, like Russia, adding that the United States treats the Czech Republic like a protectorate.

Clinton's Charity Ties With Oligarchs Behind Ukrainian Coup Revealed

by element115
A sinister atmosphere surrounds the Clinton Foundation's role in Ukrainian military coup of February 2014, experts point out.

...among individual donors contributing to the Clinton Foundation in the period between 1999 and 2014, Ukrainian sponsors took first place in the list, providing the charity with almost $10 million and pushing England and Saudi Arabia to second and third places respectively.

Viktor Pinchuk has always been one of the most vocal proponents of Ukraine's European integration. In 2004 Pinchuk founded the Yalta European Strategy (YES) platform in Kiev. YES is led by the board including ex-president of Poland Aleksander Kwasniewski and former NATO Secretary General Javier Solana. According to the website of the platform, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Condoleezza Rice, Kofi Annan, Radoslaw Sikorski, Vitaliy Klitschko, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Petro Poroshenko and other prominent figures have participated in annual meetings of YES since 2004.

El Salvador Farmers Successfully Defy Monsanto

by element115
Farmers in El Salvador are acutely aware of the importance of producing their own seeds, and avoiding those from the bioengineering giant. The farmers, who have already been consistently outperforming Monsanto with their seed, as the local seed is far healthier and more productive, have just managed to bring about a giant defeat of Monsanto by preventing it from supplying El Salvador with its seeds. Recently, the Ministry of Agriculture released a new round of contracts to provide seed to subsistence farmers across the country.

"Remember that Monsanto is together with DuPont, Pioneer, all the large businesses that control the world's seed market," said Juan Luna Vides, the director of diversified production for the Mangrove Association, a nongovernmental organization that was created to support a grassroots social movement for environmental conservation in El Salvador. "Unfortunately, many of the governments in Latin America, or perhaps the world, have beneficiary relationships with these companies."

Crimeans Keep Saying No to Ukraine

by element115
...over the past year, polls conducted by major Western firms have revealed that the people of Crimea by overwhelming numbers prefer being part of Russia over Ukraine, an embarrassing reality that Forbes business magazine has now acknowledged.

An article by Kenneth Rapoza, a Forbes specialist on developing markets, cited these polls as showing that the Crimeans do not want the United States and the European Union to force them back into an unhappy marriage with Ukraine. “The Crimeans are happy right where they are” with Russia, Rapoza wrote.

“One year after the annexation of the Ukrainian peninsula in the Black Sea, poll after poll shows that the locals there — be they Ukrainians, ethnic Russians or Tartars are all in agreement: life with Russia is better than life with Ukraine,” he wrote, adding that “the bulk of humanity living on the Black Sea peninsula believe the referendum to secede from Ukraine was legit.”

Snowden leaks prove Canada is hacking on global scale

by element115
Canada’s spy agency, the Communication Security Establishment (CSE), is a major player in global hacking operations and boasts a vast array of cyberwarfare tools, revealed in news reports on Monday, that rivals that of the United States’ National Security Agency.

Documents initially leaked to the Intercept by Edward Snowden and now reported on in collaboration with the CBC show that the NSA and its northern counterpart “cooperate closely” in “computer network access and exploitation” of certain international targets. According to one document, an April 2013 briefing note for the NSA, targets are located in the Middle East, North Africa, Europe and Mexico, in addition to unnamed countries allegedly connected to the two agencies’ counterterrorism goals.

U.S. in Ukraine: Watch what they do, not what they say

by element115
The National Guard is based on neo-Nazi street-gangs and fascist political organizations that formed the power base of the Euromaidan protest movement which carried out the February 2014 coup in Kiev. It answers to Avakov, not the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which the coup-makers considered unreliable, and which has continued to disintegrate during the war in the southeast.

The National Guard, in fact, has been the backbone of Kiev’s brutal “Anti-Terrorist Operation” against Novorossiya, targeting civilians throughout the Donbass mining region since April 2014. It is nearly as ruthless as the “volunteer” fascist battalions affiliated with the Right Sector.

While the Ukrainian Armed Forces today are a meat grinder for workers, unemployed people and youth forcibly drafted, and who frequently desert at the first opportunity, the National Guard comprise the forces most loyal to the junta of oligarchs, neoliberal politicians and fascists in Kiev.

This is the force the U.S. wants to train and strengthen.

Netanyahu legacy on the line in Israeli vote

by element115
As Israelis prepare to vote in parliament elections on Tuesday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu finds himself at a fateful crossroads: Make history or become history.

If Netanyahu can lead his Likud Party to victory and secure a fourth term in office, he will move closer to overtaking the nation's iconic founding father, David Ben-Gurion, as the longest-ever serving premier — and cementing a status as the dominant Israeli politician of the past two decades.

But if Likud stumbles and finds itself in the opposition — a real possibility, according to recent polls — the Netanyahu era could end with a resounding thud, concluding a career that many would say brought few major accomplishments beyond longevity. Iran and the international community seem headed toward a nuclear deal that Netanyahu abhors, and a resolution to the Palestinian issue seems as distant as ever.

The Orwellian Re-Branding of "Mass Surveillance" as Merely "Bulk Collection"

March 13, 2015 by element115
Just as the Bush administration and the U.S. media re-labelled “torture” with the Orwellian euphemism “enhanced interrogation techniques” to make it more palatable, the governments and media of the Five Eyes surveillance alliance are now attempting to re-brand “mass surveillance” as “bulk collection” in order to make it less menacing (and less illegal). In the past several weeks, this is the clearly coordinated theme that has arisen in the U.S., UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand as the last defense against the Snowden revelations, as those governments seek to further enhance their surveillance and detention powers under the guise of terrorism.
