Under the Bush Cartel, we have experienced a de-revolution based on deception and cynical sloganeering in which the word liberty becomes the actuality of suppression, in which freedom becomes big brother monitoring, in which economic opportunity becomes "Royal Court" cronyism, and in which accountability becomes replaced with serial lying.

The way that the Western democracies are evolving is interesting. Speaking from across the Atlantic, I perceive that your Presidential democracy is more and more taking on the colours of a benign dictatorship. Over here in UK it is freqently stated that our Government is becoming more and more Presidential. So what are the stages? Perhaps we will get rid of the Monarchy and elect a president, and maybe you will progress from a 'democratically elected' dictator to an all powerful dictator - all it would take is for an 'emergency' to cause the fixed term of the Presidency to be extended; and we all know from recent experience how easy it is to manufacture an emergency!
